Idaho’s nonprofit and education sectors face unique challenges. They are charged with educating Idaho’s future generation, protecting Idaho’s traditions, enriching our culture, filling gaps in social services, beautifying our communities, and caring for our most vulnerable citizens. Thanks to the generosity of community-minded Idahoans, we support these vital sectors in meeting the evolving needs of Idaho’s diverse communities through more than 15 grant programs. We also work with many nonprofit and education organizations to establish Organizational Funds. Organizational Funds, established by nonprofits, school foundations, and other community organizations, provide annual distributions to support operations, new programs, special programs, and more. We believe philanthropy is more successful, rewarding, and effective when it’s community driven. We trust and respect our grantees and we strive for transparency in our grantmaking. We make grants in a variety of ways, including through more than 15 programs with their own eligibility, review processes and award amounts. Statewide Grants
Forever Idaho Regional Grant Program
The Forever Idaho Regional Grant Program connects passionate donors with community needs for maximum impact. It is funded through the generosity of donors who recognize that the needs within communities and among nonprofits are constantly changing. They have entrusted ICF with the flexibility to forever meet those needs.
The program is based on our philosophy of community-driven philanthropy and distributes greatest need funding through grants made in four regional cycles.
- North – Deadline June 15.
- East – Deadline June 15.
- Southwest – Deadline August 15.
- South Central – Deadline August 15.
Idaho Future Fund
Deadline March 1. Provides grants that typically range from $10,000 to $20,000 intended to support gaps in educational programs (preschool through 12th grade) that gravely affect the quality of education students receive in Idaho. Focus areas include Preschool Scholarships, Charter Schools, Public Schools/Public School Libraries and Supplemental Educational Programs.
Student Loan Fund of Idaho Education Fund
Deadline January 15. Provides grants for two- and four-year colleges and universities in the state of Idaho to encourage upper class students to complete their postsecondary education by providing financial assistance when unusual or unexpected financial problems might preclude continuing in school. The minimum grant amount per education institution is $5,000.
East Idaho Grants
Ifft Foundation Fund
Deadlines March 15 and August 15. Grants given for projects that benefit community beautification and public recreation in southeastern Idaho with primary emphasis on landscaping and beautification projects. Open to organizations from Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties.
Lemhi Valley Community Foundation
An affiliate of the Idaho Community Foundation with a focus on ensuring that Lemhi County is a vibrant, thriving, self-sufficient place forever, the Lemhi Valley Community Foundation offers grants to local organizations.
The F.M., Anne G., and Beverly B. Bistline Foundation Fund
Deadlines May 1 and November 1. Grants are given to support arts activities that will provide entertainment or art-related education to the general public and/or support the education, skills training, performance or display opportunities for local artists in Bannock, Bingham, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties.
North Idaho Grants
Bonner County Fund for Arts Enhancement
Deadline May 1. The Bonner County Fund for Arts Enhancement was created to enhance the arts in Bonner County by providing funds either to develop a community education component of existing arts programs or to help fund new arts programs whose major emphasis includes a strong educational focus. Grants typically range from $3,000 - $12,000.
Bonner County Human Rights Task Force Fund
Deadline May 1. Grants to Bonner County organizations whose activities reflect commitment to the ideal that everyone is equal under our state and federal laws and constitution regardless of race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability. Grants typically range from $1,000 - $2,500.
Grangeville Community Foundation
An affiliate of the Idaho Community Foundation, Grangeville Community Foundation was created by the people of Grangeville for the people of Grangeville. Our vision is to create a vibrant and healthy community now and for future generations.
Junior Garnier & Bud Ashford Military Veterans Fund
Deadline May 1. For veteran’s organizations located in Bonner and Boundary counties that are serving veterans within that region, including American Legion posts, Disabled American Veterans chapters, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States posts, Vietnam Veterans of America chapters, and Marine Corps League detachments.
Women's Gift Alliance
Deadline November 9. Open to nonprofits that serve Kootenai County. The Women's Gift Alliance pools the talents and resources of local women to provide meaningful financial support to a broad range of charitable, cultural and educational projects.
South Central Idaho Grants
Chobani Community Impact Fund
The Chobani Community Impact Fund awards grants to organizations, programs, and projects that promote food and nutrition security in Twin Falls and/or Jerome counties. Deadline is TBD.
Women’s Giving Connection
The Women’s Giving Connection empowers women to become educated philanthropists who create positive change locally through collective grantmaking.
Wood River Women’s Foundation
Wood River Women’s Foundation inspires and educates women to become leaders in philanthropy. We encourage and create significant positive change in our community through pooled grant-making.
Southwest Idaho Grants
Perc H. Shelton and Gladys A. Pospisil Shelton Foundation Advised Fund
Deadline September 1. Grants given for projects that benefit Valley County. Organizations don’t have to be based in Valley County.
